Literature has a great deal of competition these days. Technologies such as Television, the Internet, Movies and Radio offer a more immediate reward and require less time and investment.

But there is something timeless about a good piece of literature. Even Hollywood producers draw on the great classics of literature when they are lacking original ideas for scripts.
